Siem Reap, Cambodia
This place is really far from the temples at the Angkor complex. It took us almost an hour by car. I fell asleep on the way. Our driver show us photos of the river and stone carvings and we eventually said yes (had to add few more dollars) because he said we will hike! I felt sorry for my sprained ankle.
Hiked all the way up to find stone carvings by ancient Khmer. At the top, there’s a falls where hikers and kids can swim. Honestly, I am disappointed and I expect for a river and there’s no river! It is not best to go during summer. Trust me, the heat will kill you. Make sure to bring lots of water bottles before hiking up. There are also two man-made huts for rest stop.
I am amazed at the female fertility symbol that I’ve seen here. I saw a similar one at Preah Khan as well.
